Eye Tests

These are the eye tests on offer now at OPSM eye hub.

Easy Care

Medicare bulk billed*

This is the standard eye test Australia wide. But just because it’s standard doesn’t mean it’s any less thorough. It’s a fast and easy examination that allows us to comprehensively assess your vision. You’ll have to perform tasks at various distances, so we can optimize your sight for day-to-day activities. We’ll also thoroughly check the health of your eye and if need be, we’ll then discuss vision correction options that will suit your lifestyle, whether it be spectacles, contact lenses or sunglasses. A free contact lens trial is also included.

Timing is 30 minutes

*Customers holding an eligible Medicare card will have services bulk billed as per Medicare guidelines. For non-eligible card holders additional fees may apply. Please contact our service team for more information.

Classic Care

Eye Test and Retinal Photo. $50 plus Medicare

A picture says a thousand words. So that’s why we use Retinal Photos when testing your eyes. Retinal Photos provide one of the most accurate records of what the back of the eye looks like. We take a photo of the back of your eye using a state of the art digital imaging machine then examine the image. It doesn’t hurt a bit and takes only five minutes, but it aids in the detection and management of some serious eye diseases, as well as giving us a good gauge on the health of your eyes. A free contact lens trial is also included.

Total Care

Eye Test, Retinal Photo and Matrix Screener. $75 plus Medicare

On top of getting your retinal photo, which gives us a great view of the surface of your eye, you can also get a Matrix Screener, which provides valuable information of what may be happening below the surface. It measures your eyes' field of view, which is important for things like driving. These screeners are good because they can detect irregularities that normal eye tests can’t. A free contact lens trial is also included.

Absolute Care

Eye Test, Retinal Photo, Matrix Screener and OCT. $150 plus Medicare. Also includes customer progressive lens upgrade with complete pair purchase + 30% off sunglasses.

An OCT is like a 3D cat scan. It provides greater clarity of what your eye looks like beneath the visible surface. On top of the eye test, retinal photo and matrix screener, you’ll get an OCT. This scan is like a microscope for us. We can see below the surface of your eye in extraordinary detail. And that means we can detect changes sooner which can lead to more effective treatment. A free contact lens trial is also included.
